Certification, inspections, harnesses and the work environment — a concise summary of the rules you cannot compromise on.
Working at height requires an operator holding valid certification for the machine type, plus equipment with a valid statutory inspection. Both are threshold conditions for any site work.
Before each shift, run a daily check: tyres, fluids, safety systems, emergency stop and the integrity of the basket guardrails. Any fault found stops the machine until it is repaired.
On boom lifts, a restraint harness attached to the basket anchor point is mandatory. On scissor lifts the guardrail is the protection — never climb on it or stand on the toolbox.
Finally, ensure stable ground, clearance from power lines and clear demarcation of the work zone from site traffic. TODO: add references to the binding Israeli regulations and standards.
