Fuel consumption, light quality and maintenance — why almost every site is moving to LED, and when an alternative is still worth checking.
LED floodlights draw a fraction of the power of halogen and metal-halide fittings, so an LED tower runs far longer on the same tank. Over a long project that is a significant operating-cost difference.
Light quality also differs: LED delivers uniform white light with less glare, improving visibility and reducing crew fatigue on night works.
On maintenance, LED fittings last considerably longer with no frequent lamp changes. In return the initial investment is higher — so on a short rental the gap narrows.
For noise- or emission-sensitive sites, consider a solar hybrid tower that runs on panels by day and starts the generator only as back-up. TODO: add savings figures from the Trime range.
